Woman Charged for Arson Attempt in General Roca

A municipal employee in the city of General Roca, province of Río Negro, was accused of trying to set fire to a municipal delegation. According to the accusation made by the Public Prosecutor's Office, the woman, who was known in the municipal environment, entered an office where she threatened a man who was working there.

The file details that the accused carried a gasoline can, a lighter, and a chain with which she stated her intention to cause a fire. She threateningly expressed: "I’m going to set fire to everyone and you," then sprayed the hallway and the man's office. Fortunately, the quick intervention of police officers prevented her from carrying out her intent and they managed to subdue her on the spot.

After being arrested, the woman was charged with attempted arson and simple threats, as the perpetrator. It was revealed that the accused was also a municipal employee in the Social Development area. As coercive measures, she was prohibited from approaching the municipal delegation, the victims, and the witnesses involved in the incident, in order to safeguard the ongoing investigation.

So far, the motives that triggered the woman's violent reaction have not been disclosed. The accused faces the charges against her while waiting for the events that occurred at the municipal delegation of General Roca to be clarified.
